To vote in Kansas, a person must:
be registered to vote at least 21 days before the election,
be a US citizen,
be a Kansas resident,
be at least 18 years old by the next election, and
not currently be serving a sentence for a felony conviction.
A person does not need to have a permanent home to register to vote. If he or she is experiencing homelessness or doesn't have a traditional address, he or she can still register by describing a place where he or she stays or spends time. This helps election officials assign the person to the correct voting precinct so he or she gets the right ballot.
A person will also need to list a mailing address where he or she can receive election information. This can be a P.O. box, a local shelter, an outreach center, an advocacy organization, or the home of someone willing to accept mail for the person.
