REGISTERING TO VOTE:

A person can register to vote in Kansas if: To vote in Kansas, a person must: A person does not need to have a permanent home to register to vote.   If he or she is experiencing homelessness or doesn't have a traditional address, he or she can still register by describing a place where he or she stays or spends time.   This helps election officials assign the person to the correct voting precinct so he or she gets the right ballot.

A person will also need to list a mailing address where he or she can receive election information.   This can be a P.O. box, a local shelter, an outreach center, an advocacy organization, or the home of someone willing to accept mail for the person.


THE CITY PRIMARY ELECTION:

The Lawrence City Commission has two open seats (At-Large).   Since thirteen candidates have filed to run for the Lawrence City Commission, a primary election will be held on August 5, 2025.   The thirteen, listed alphabetically, are:
THE FINAL ELECTION:

The four winners of the City Commission primary election will enter the final election, along with the school district candidates.

The School District (USD 497) has 3 open seats (At-Large).

Seven have filed to run for the USD 497 school board.   There will not be a primary election.   Listed alphabetically, the candidates are:
EARLY VOTING

Early Voting Starts: 20 days before Election Day.   This is July 16th.

Early Voting Ends: Noon the day before Election Day.   This is August 4th.



ELECTION DATES

The Primary Election will be held on August 5th.

The General Election will be held on November 4th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Persons who live in Precinct 45 vote at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 5700 West 6th St., Lawrence.
