We are Democrats because we are concerned and compassionate about the well-being of our neighbors.

We are Democrats because we turn towards the poor, the middle class, the elderly, the disabled, the marginalized, and the uninsured.

We are Democrats because we believe that empathy is the heart of democracy.

We are Democrats because we believe that every hard-working American should be paid a livable wage that provides for a decent and secure life.

We are Democrats because we believe that every American worker is entitled to representation and rights within the workplace.

We are Democrats because we believe that no American should suffer without healthcare.

We are Democrats because the Democratic party represents the racial, cultural, and religious diversity of this nation.

We are Democrats because we believe that

• no president should abuse the privilege of pardoning,
• no president should disrespect the opinions of the Supreme Court,
• no president should direct the Federal Government to prosecute political adversaries,
• no president should imprison children and their families, and that
• no president should make illegal payments to influence elections.

These are the reasons why we are Democrats.
